Meet Executive Director, Alisa Karwowski, LADC

Alisa was appointed as Executive Director for New Hope for Children in 2013, and she served as the Russian Representative one year prior and as the President of the Board of Directors for New Hope for Children for three years. Alisa holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Southern New Hampshire University. She is the guidance director at a private high school on the seacoast and holds a private practice license in counseling. Alisa facilitates social services and adoption related counseling for both birth families as well as adoptive families. She also is the Director of the Orphanage Fund, Keeping the Promise. Alisa is the author of A Guide to Russian Adoption: Professional Counseling and Personal Insights and is the adoptive mother of two boys from St. Petersburg, Russia and a daughter born domestically. She has made appearances on the TODAY Show, MSNBC, The Joy Behar Show and NECN to discuss sensitive issues surrounding international adoption.
